Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot-Out

The fall golf season continues with some great golf specials and
golf tournaments.
If you didn’t get a chance to play in the 25th Annual Barbecue Festival Golf Tournament, you missed a great event. The weather was a little damp for the full-field of 56 two-man teams that teed off on Saturday morning with a 9:00 AM Shotgun. The sun came out later in the day making it very enjoyable to play and score. Of course both the play and the Smokey Joe’s Barbecue was fantastic. Atkins & Wilmoth opened with a 7 under par 64, followed closely by Nathan Jessup & Michael Holshouser with 65, and Hugo Crigler & Jay Welborn and the team of Bennett Brown & Herb Lohr both firing 5 under par 66’s.
Sunday provided more drama as the two leading teams went out together in the last group. A seesaw battle ensued with both Atkins and Jessup's teams tying for the overall championship at 12 under par 130. Atkins & Wilmoth managed a birdie on the par 5 18th first playoff hole to win by one as Holshouser’s long birdie try lipped out. This was Atkins’ & Wilmoth’s fourth Barbecue Championship in nine years. For all of the golf results please go to our website lexingtongolfclub.com

We are selling our $99.00 cards again this year. Regular golfers pay $99.00 and receive 5 weekday or weekend after 12:00 PM rounds with carts included, while Seniors receive 6 rounds. These cards are offered for a limited time but the rounds are good for the next two years.

Thanksgiving Day Turkey Shoot-Out

In more golf news, Lexington is hosting its third annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Shoot-Out. The event will start with a 9:00 AM shotgun start and teams will be made up that morning. Players interested just need to be at the golf shop by 8:45 that morning. Golf will be over early so we can all get home and enjoy some turkey, football and a nap!

Friday Morning Event
Be at the shop by 9:45 for a 10:00 AM shotgun. The format is Two Best Ball of Four person teams. All events listed are open to anyone that would like to play. All events require golf fees (which vary) plus entry fees which range from $7.00 —$10.00.
